When Tatya grew up, Pashwa kept him as Musha Tarak.  Before becoming a Musha, Tatya had also done nakra hail in other places but he did not feel there.  After which Peshwaji handed over the responsibility to him.  Tatya took over the post and while holding the post he was caught by a corrupt employee of the state.  Pleased with Tatya's work, the Peshwa honored her by giving her a gem-studded hat.  The hat given in this honor earned him the name Tatya Tope.

Some people called him Tatya Tope instead of Ramchandra Pandurang. The hat given to him by Peshwaji was studded with some diamonds.  Tatya Tope's role in the 1857 uprising The British paid Peshwa a pension of eight lakh rupees a year, but when he died, the British stopped giving this pension to his family.  Not only that, he also refused to consider his son Nana Saheb as his successor.  Nana Saheb and Tatya were very annoyed with this decision taken by the British and from here they started making tactics against the British.

In 1857, there was a military coup against the British and taking advantage of this revolt, Nana Saheb raised an army and Tatya Tope helped Nana Saheb.  Nana Saheb also appointed Tatya Top as the commander of his army.  The British attacked Kanpur in 1957 and the attack was led by Brigadier General Havelock.  Nanasaheb and the British Nanasaheb could not face the British for long and he lost, however, after this attack there were some battles in between but in all these Nanasaheb lost  Nanasaheb left Kanpur after some time and moved to Nepal with his family. He breathed his last in Nepal.

On the other hand, despite the defeat in the war against the British, Tatya Tope did not give up and formed his own army.  With the help of his army, he devised a strategy to liberate Kanpur from the control of the British, but Havelock also attacked Bihur with the help of his army and Tatya was with his army in this place.  Just as Tatya and Rani Lakshmibai refused to consider Nana Saheb as the successor of Bajirao Peshwa, so the British did not consider Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi as the heir of the property.  Tatya was very angry with this decision of the British and decided to help Rani Lakshmibai.

Tatya already knew Rani Lakshmibai and the two were friends.  Rani Lakshmibai took part in the war against the British in 1987 and wanted to silence everyone associated with the British insurrection.  In 1987, Jhansi was attacked by British troops led by Sir Hughes.  When Tatya Tope found out about this, he decided to help Rani Lakshmibai.

Tatya with his army confronted the British army and saved Lakshmibai from the clutches of the British.  After winning this battle, Rani and Tatya Tope went to Kalpi.  Going there he devised his next strategy to fight the British.  Born in the kingdom of Veer Shivaji, Tatya Tope confronted the British by adopting his siege policy.  Guerrilla warfare is also called guerrilla warfare, in which the enemy is suddenly attacked in hiding, when they are not ready for battle.  And the invaders disappeared from there immediately after the battle.  Return to the front suddenly until the enemy is defeated.

This war policy can be easily adopted around the hills.  That is why Tatya Top attacked the British from the Vindhya Trench to the Aravalli Range, and in response, the British could not capture Tatya Top even after chasing him for 2800 miles in forests, hills and valleys.  Tatya knew that he would have to strengthen his army to defeat the British. To counter the British, Tatya joined hands with Maharaja Jayaji Rao Scindia, who devised a new strategy, after which the two together established their claim to the famous fort of Gwalior.

Tatya's move was a setback for the British.  He hastened to try to catch Tatya.  Rani Lakshmibai lost a battle against the British at Gwalior on June 18, 1858 and set herself on fire to escape the British.  Tatya Top was taken prisoner in Shivpuri and there he was sentenced to death, it was not easy to catch Tatya.  While Tatya was resting in Padan's forest, he was captured by the British
