 Thomas Alva Edison, the inventor of the electric bulb, was working day and night for an invention.  Despite doing hundreds of experiments, no results were obtained.  Fellow scientists were exhausted and persuaded Edison to abandon the invention.

 However, Edison had faith in the success of the experiment.  The assistant scientists started to get frustrated and said that life will end like this, let us focus on some other invention than that, but Edison was firm in his thoughts.  He was not ready to give up his pursuit of research.

 At one point, impatient assistants told him plainly that you have lost five hundred times.  Five hundred experiments yielded no results.  Now if you don't stop doing this experiment we will leave you...

 Edison replied: 'This is where you make a mistake.  We have not lost.  Every failed experiment brings us closer to success.  If you give up trying at this point, we will fail.  I feel that success is in sight now, just when you are learning failure yourself.'

'
