Initiative to save the environment: 14-year-old Vinisha Umashankar won the Children's Climate Prize 2020, also shortlisted for the National Bal Shakti Award 2021.
Vinisha Umashankar, 14, is a 9th standard student in a private school in Tiruvannamalai. The girl has been awarded the Children's Climate Prize for ironing a solar-powered mobile phone. His name has also been shortlisted for the National Child Power Award 2021, an honor received by the Prime Minister at the age of 18 years.
Vinisha received Rs 8.64 lakh in the Children's Climate Prize. He also received a medal from the Sweden-based Children's Climate Foundation. He received the award on November 18 in the Digital Program. This is the world's largest international climate award given to young innovators every year.
"Where I live, I saw an ironed brother working ironing people," Vinisha said. His wife does the same. They both use cast iron in a cast iron box for ironing. Many times this family has also pressed my clothes. The press was then thrown into the open ground to cool the coal. It was then thrown in the trash. There are 6 people around my house who do this work.
Such people made Vinisha think that what to do if this coal iron should not be used, as coal harms the environment. Last year it was called Dr. APJ Sbdul Kalam was honored with IGNITE Award. Vinisha has also built a smart ceiling fan before this.
