Gujarat Public Service Commission announces recruitment for various posts

GPSC has announced recruitment for the posts of Class 1-2, Deputy Mamlatdar / Deputy Section Officer, Inspector of Police (PI).

Limits of Sum Assured in Postal Life Insurance

A policy under this scheme will be available in two plans, one of 15 years and the other of 20 years term. The minimum age at entry for both the plans shall be 19 years on the next birth day whereas the upper age limit shall be 45 years and 40 years for 15 years and 20 years term respectively. The sum assured under both the plans shall be paid in four installments as given below Table IV & Table X. 

In case of the death of the insured at any time during the term of the policy, the full sum assured will be paid along with the accrued bonus without making any adjustment of the periodical survival benefit payments already made.



Neither any surrender value nor any loan shall be granted for the policy issued under this scheme. No conversion from/to this policy is permissible. In the event of cessation of premium before maturity age, the reduced paid-up assurance will be granted, provided premiums have been paid for not less than three years, only at the date of maturity, that is at the end of stipulated plan term or on death of life assured, and no further periodical payments on account of survival benefit will be paid.

 In every case except that of Anticipated Endowment Assurance and Joint Life Assurance, the maximum number of monthly premiums payable is twelve times the difference between the age at entry according to which the premium is charged and the age at which payments are to cease. In case of Anticipated Endowment Assurance and Joint Life Assurance, the maximum number of monthly premiums payable is twelve times the selected term



In case of Endowment Assurance, Policy can also be made effective by making Quarterly/ Half Yearly/ Yearly payment of premium, as per the mode opted by the insurant at the time of proposal, specified in Tables II-A/ II-B/ II-C, respectively. Anticipated Endowment Assurance and Joint Life Assurance can be made effective by making a monthly payment of premium till the end of selected term or death of the insured person, whichever is earlier, as specified in Table IV15 and Table V4 respectively of these rules. The monthly payment in respect of Children Policy shall be regulated by Table VI1 of these Rules.

GPSC exam is conducted in 2 stages.

Stage 1: Preliminary Exam (Objective Type)

Stage 2: Mains Exam (Written and Personal Interview)

GPSC exam syllabus is similar to the UPSC Syllabus; the only difference is GPSC syllabus will have topics on History, Culture, Geography concerning the state of Gujarat.

Few important points to note concerning GPSC Syllabus 2020:
To tackle questions on Science and Technology, as per GPSC Exam Syllabus candidates do not require any kind of specialization from the science stream.
Under the History section, as per GPSC Exam Syllabus, candidates need to focus on the History of Gujarat.

As per GPSC Syllabus, under the Geography section candidates have to prepare for the social and economic geography of Gujarat and India.
GPSC Exam Pattern
GPSC conducts the exam in 3 stages
Prelims – 2 papers – Objective type questions (MCQ)
Mains – 6 papers – Descriptive type questions

GPSC Exam Pattern for Mains exam is given below
The GPSC Personality Test/ Interview is held for candidates who clear the GPSC Mains stage of the GPSC exam. The interview (in the GPSC exam pattern) is for 100 marks and tests the general awareness, character, expression, personality, intelligence, and general suitability for the service.

GPSC Exam Syllabus – Prelims
The GPSC Syllabus overlaps significantly with the UPSC Syllabus for IAS exam. With the new GPSC pattern and GPSC Syllabus, candidates preparing simultaneously for the Civil Services Exam (UPSC) and state civil services exam will have a slightly easier task.
